Today, we honor Roosevelt Glenn Sr. and the long road to justice.
Wrongfully convicted in 1993, Roosevelt spent nearly 17 years in prison. Even after his release, he carried the burden of a conviction that should never have happened. It took eight more years before the truth was officially recognized.
On January 30, 2017, Roosevelt was officially exonerated, many years after being released on parole in November 2009.
His case was shaped by faith, resilience, and the relentless advocacy of Fran Watson and the IU McKinney School of Law’s Wrongful Conviction Clinic.
Today, Roosevelt is a Founding Board Member of the Indiana Innocence Project and a leading voice for justice in Indiana. He is also the author of Innocent Nightmare, available in print and e-book.
His story reminds us why innocence work matters—and why the fight for truth must continue.
