The presentation will include a focus on the case of Kristine Bunch v. State of Indiana. Kristine Bunch spent 17 years in an Indiana prison for arson and the resulting death of her 3 -year-old child. She was exonerated after proving the government hid evidence of her innocence, and the fire had been electrical in origin, not the result of the use of an accelerant. Kristine Bunch is willing to share her tragic story in order to open the prison doors for others and create paths for reform.

Kristine Bunch and Fran Watson will provide a narrative of the innocence movement nationally and in Indiana, beginning with the advent or DNA technology, the growth of law school clinics, including the Innocence Project, and the creation of the Innocence Network, the present affiliation of organizations dedicated to representation and change.
